Stop sending flowers for gifts!
There are times to send flowers, and there are times to send gifts that are
more permanent.
How many dinner parties have you been to, where everyone walks in with a bouquet
of flowers. The host gives a beaming smile, and then departs to the kitchen to
leave the flowers there for the night.
The next morning, they come back to the kitchen to arrange the flowers. They
then have the hassle of arranging them in a vase, and changing the water every
other day. Within one or two weeks, all the flowers have died. Your gift is
forgotten.
Some people will bring to the party some carefully selected bottles of wine, or
some hand made chocolates. The host is unsure of the quality of the gifts, so
they take them to the kitchen for another occasion (particular annoying if you
chose the wine for that evening!)
